Built along the corridors

Step 1 of 6: Europe’s logistics corridors

Why corridors

Prime logistics land along Europe’s key transport corridors is scarce, while demand stays strong. We invest along the Atlantic, Dorsale en Rhine-Alpine corridor. The latter runs through the Blue Banana, Europe’s economic heartland.

Step 2 of 6: Today’s portfolio

Built along the corridors

Our portfolio in Belgium, the Netherlands, France and Germany sits on these routes and on the hubs where they meet: seaports, inland terminals and the urban regions around them.

Step 3 of 6: Italy, a fifth core market

Into a new core market

The Rhine–Alpine corridor continues over the Alps to the Mediterranean. Italy, one of Europe’s largest logistics markets, combines high occupancy, sustained rental growth, limited availability and strong occupier demand. Making it the ideal new market for Montea.

Step 4 of 6: Ten new sites

Ten sites along the corridor

Acquisition of ten modern sites from WLP: eight in Italy’s key logistics hubs, from Milan to Bari, and two in Hanover and Leipzig. All are let or pre-let to leading global and European operators.

+10 sites, 310,000 m²fully let or pre-let
Step 5 of 6: Development partnership to 2030

A development partnership to 2030

Beyond the acquisition comes an exclusive development partnership through 2030. WLP brings local teams and land, Montea brings expertise and capital. The goal: double our Italian portfolio.

Jo De Wolf

“For centuries, Italy has connected European industry with Mediterranean trade making it a logical next step for Montea, as we continue to focus on Europe’s strongest logistics locations. The market fundamentals are strong with high demand and limited qualitative offer resulting in continued rental growth. We are entering the market from a position of strength, with Weerts Logistics Parks as a trusted partner offering local development expertise, with the ambition to build a meaningful presence from day one.”

Jo De WolfCEO, Montea
Dirk De Pauw

“For us, the long term has always come first. It means respecting what has been built, making thoughtful choices today and creating opportunities that will still matter for the next generation. As a family and as a Board, we believe Montea’s expansion into Italy reflects exactly that ambition: building sustainable growth with a perspective that goes far beyond the years ahead.”

Dirk De PauwChairman of the Board, Montea
Yves Weerts

“We are delighted to have a like-minded partner in Montea, and the collaboration between both teams has been excellent. Reinvesting in Montea’s capital reflects our strong belief in its equity story and long-term value. Italy has strong momentum, and as Montea’s development partner, we look forward to growing there together.”

Yves WeertsExecutive Chairman & CEO, Weerts Group
Els Vervaecke

"The issue price of the new shares sends an important signal: for us, growth must always go hand in hand with shareholder value. Pricing the new shares above the latest EPRA NTA supports that principle and provides a robust equity base for the transaction. It allows us to take a meaningful strategic step and acquire a prime portfolio with long-term cash flow visibility, whilst preserving our financial strength for future growth.”
