Montea, a longstanding sustainable developing investor, announces the appointment of Dirk Van Buggenhout as its new Chief Sustainability Officer.

Dirk, with an extensive 20-year background in logistics project development, has been a key figure at Montea for the past decade. Serving initially as a project manager and later as the Chief Development Officer Belgium, Dirk has played a vital role in shaping Montea's ambitious sustainability narrative. This includes both operational contributions and strategic initiatives, such as the start of ESG reporting. Montea is one of the twenty listed companies with the lowest environmental impact in Belgium.

Before joining Montea, Dirk contributed to pioneering sustainability efforts, including the first-ever BREAAM certifications and leading large-scale PV projects in Belgium.

"Sustainability is inherently part of my professional DNA,” says Dirk. “Since the outset of my career, I have closely monitored industry developments to stay ahead. While challenges are substantial, the solutions are equally robust. I am excited about steering Montea's sustainability policy and implementation to a new level, working together with an exceptional team and reliable partners."

During this transition, the current Chief Sustainability Officer will continue in her role until June, facilitating a seamless handover. This strategic approach ensures that we continue to be well-prepared to address sustainability challenges.
