Last month Dille & Kamille, the quirky sustainable retail chain active in the Netherlands and Belgium, moved into a brand-new distribution centre in Waddinxveen. Dille & Kamille has had a very strong focus on sustainability for the past 45 years already, both in terms of their assortment and in their business approach. Montea is glad to be able to offer them a DC that meets their vision 100%.

Sunshine as an eye-catcher

It was obvious Dille & Kamille would focus on sustainability in its search for a suitable DC. The building in Waddinxveen meets the ‘very good’ requirement in the BREEAM category, which is an asset for Dille & Kamille. The building is entirely floor heated and is connected to an air heat pump, making a gas connection unnecessary. Solar collectors will soon be installed on the roof.

The building's warehouse and office spaces are fully equipped with LED lighting. Daylight floods the entire warehouse through a light strip all the way around the façade. Working in natural daylight has a proven positive impact on health and safety.

Dille & Kamille: “a store like no other”

Dille & Kamille opened its first store in 1974 in Utrecht. Customers find goods for the home, garden and kitchen here. Dille & Kamille's vision is based on the slogan ‘Natural simplicity’ where sustainability and attention for each other and the environment are key. Dille & Kamille has 24 physical stores in the Netherlands and 11 in Belgium as well as an online store. From its DC in Waddinxveen they will organise the centralised distribution of their products.
